New 5G antenna Frequency

The new 5G spectrum is a range of radio frequencies in the sub-6 GHz range and the millimeter-wave (mmWave) frequency range that is 24.25 GHz and above.

The 5G NR spectrum refers to the radio frequencies that carry data from user equipment (UE) to cellular base stations to the data’s endpoint.

The new 5G network has a total of 29 frequency bands, which are mainly divided into two spectrum ranges, of which there are 26 frequency bands below 6GHz (collectively referred to as Sub-6GHz) and 3-millimeter wave frequency bands. At present, the main domestic use is Sub-6GHz, including 7 frequency bands n1/n3/n28/n41/n77/n78/n79. The details are as follows:

1. According to the current 3GPP division, 5G NR mainly includes two major spectrum ranges, the 450MHz-6000MHz frequency range is FR1, which is often referred to as Sub-6GHz, and the 24250MHz-52600MHz frequency range is FR2, which is often referred to as millimeter-wave;

2. FR1 includes 26 frequency bands from n1/n2/n3, FR2 includes three frequency bands n257, n258, mn260, and currently mainly used at home and abroad are 7 frequency bands n1/n3/n28/n41/n77/n78/n79.

Beyond mobile operator networks, 5G NR is also expected to be used for private networks with applications in industrial IoT, enterprise networking, and critical communications.

Initial 5G NR launches depended on pairing with existing LTE (4G) infrastructure in non-standalone (NSA) mode (5G NR radio with 4G core), before maturation of the standalone (SA) mode with the 5G core network.
