4G LTE Antenna Applications
The difference between LTE, LTE-A, 4G, and 4G+
1. TD-LTE is a 3.9G technology. It is called the 3.9G international standard as LTE-FDD, not 4G;
2. TD-LTE-A (LTE-Advanced) is a 4G standard proposed by China with TD-LTE as the core technology, that is, 4G.
3. 4G+. At present, a new technology (carrier aggregation) is added to 4G technology to increase the speed of 4G. Compared with 4G’s maximum download speed of 120Mbps, 4G+ can reach 300Mbps.
(However, in terms of user experience, it is uncertain whether it can be achieved. 5G will reach a higher speed if the development is completed.)
Unicom 4G
China Unicom’s 3G technology uses WCDMA technology from Europe. Later, domestic operators first issued TD-LTE technology licenses.
Then, in order to enable China Unicom’s European technology and Telecom’s American technology to achieve smooth docking with LTE technology as soon as possible, FDD LTE licenses were issued to China Unicom and China Telecom.
So the Unicom 4G you use is supported by both TD-LTE and FDD LTE technologies (but mainly FDD).
PS: It is not certain whether the 4G technology first advertised by the three major operators refers to the TD-LTE3.9G standard or the TD-LTE-A4G standard.
Because LTE-A itself has carrier aggregation technology, it is possible that 4G+ advertised by operators is the corresponding TD-LTE-A technology, and it is also possible that 4G+ is another improvement in TD-LTE-A technology.
