Applications of helical spring antenna 433 MHz coil antenna
How to make a 433 MHz Coil Antenna Design?
The client is doing a 433M module project. There is no problem in the actual application, the test distance can be up to 1-2 kilometers。 Of course, this has a lot to do with the power of the transmitter.
From the perspective of the 433 modules, sensitivity is an important parameter, and antenna gain is one aspect. The question is, what is the gain for a wire diameter of 0.5mm, a pitch of 0.9mm, and a coil length of about 21mm (23 turns)?
1. The spring antenna is theoretically used as a (monopole) antenna. The standard monopole antenna can get 1.5-1.75 dBi under the appropriate ground plane, but it is omnidirectional.
The conditions of your spring antenna and your ground plane should not be better than that of a standard antenna. It will show directivity (because of the beam), so it can barely achieve 1.5dBi at a certain angle.
The antenna gain is actually measured at 0.8-1dbi. This is the maximum point found by omnidirectional scanning. This test environment has no standard “ground” as a foil.
2. This is a transmitting/receiving device used on a car remote control, the spring antenna on the car machine will have a larger gain than the handheld one, because of the structure. (It is also related to the polarization direction).
3. The distance is of course related to the transmitting power and receiving sensitivity, but the encoding method and baud rate (bps) will also affect the distance!
Different encoding methods and rates will affect the receiving sensitivity of the receiver.
The slow code will seriously interfere with the fast code, but its effective range can be farther than the fast code.
4. According to the test method, first test the received power value A at the center frequency, and then the transmit power remains unchanged, adjust the output frequency of the signal source until the received power is 3dB lower than the previous power value (A). Calculate this frequency width.
After the test, it is about 20% at 90MHz.
PS: The standard half-wave dipole antenna is 2.15 dBi (or dB).
C&T RF Antennas Inc. supplies the spring antenna coil helical antenna with 315 Mhz, 433 Mhz, 868 Mhz, 915 Mhz, Wifi, GSM, etc.
