What are 2.4G WiFi and 5G WiFi?

5G wireless WiFi (802.11ac) means the fifth generation of wireless WiFi transmission technology and operates in the 5Ghz radio waveband. Most of our current wireless WiFi utilizes the fourth generation 2.4 GHz.

5GHz Wi-Fi is faster than 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, except for the literal number 5 is greater than 2.4, what is the principle behind it?

The biggest difference is the bandwidth.

But relatively, the frequency of 5GHz is shorter, the penetration is weak, so the penetration ability of 5GHz is not as good as 2.4GHz, if, in the environment of multiple walls like a living room, the radiation range of 5GHz is less than 2.4GHz. But 5GHz is the trend!
