Description
What is the Lora Antenna 915 MHz Omni Antenna?
The Universal external antenna Lora Antenna 915 MHz antenna CTRF-ANTENNA-AP-0915-10110-RPSMA-W is a Small rubber ducky antenna for use on the 915 MHz Lora band and 915 MHz ISM band, suitable for applications in Sigfox/Public Safety/LMR/P25/TETRA, ISM/SCADA/Utilities, RFID, IoT/NB-IoT/LoRa, etc.
The swivel & portable rubber duck antenna Lora antenna 915Mhz antenna comes with a 10x110mm white color plastic ABS antenna radome, standard RP-SMA male pin, swivel antenna, and terminal mounted directly to the LoRaWAN devices.
LoRa network architecture
The LoRa network architecture consists of four components: end nodes, gateways, web servers, and application servers, where application data can be transmitted in both directions.
LoRa is a physical layer or wireless modulation that creates long-range communication connections. Compared to traditional FSK technology and short-range RF technologies that lack stability and security.
LoRa is based on CSS modulation (Chirp Spread Spectrum), which greatly increases the communication range while maintaining low power consumption. CSS technology has been used for decades in military and space communications and is characterized by long transmission distances and high interference resistance.
In addition, LoRa technology does not require the construction of a base station, a gateway can control more devices, and the deployment of the network is more flexible, which can significantly reduce construction costs.
Because of its low power consumption, long transmission distance, and flexible networking, LoRa is a perfect match for the needs of fragmentation, low cost, and large connectivity of the Internet of Things, and is therefore widely deployed in many vertical industries such as smart communities, smart homes and buildings, smart meters, smart agriculture, and smart logistics, with a promising future.

Do I need a LoRa Gateway?
Yes, a network server must be used for LoRaWAN if you want to be able to easily set up and manage your nodes and gateways, however, you do not have to use a solution developed by them or even TTN for that matter, you could develop your own (if you had the hardware, manpower, and ability).
