The High-performance ISM 433 MHz Transmitter and Receiver Antenna CTRF-ANTENNA-FPC-0433-5514-UFL120 item is an embedded flex PCB antenna design 433 MHz Ipex antenna manufactured by C&T RF Antennas Inc for LoRa & ISM bands.

The High-performance ISM 433 MHz Transmitter and Receiver Antenna comes with a 5±1dBi Lora antenna gain, a 55x14mm FPC board size, and a 420-450 MHz ISM band antenna frequency that also can be used for Lora band application for the smart device’s internal use.

What are those grounding problems in the FPC antenna design that need to pay attention?

FPC antenna grounding issues: good RF grounding for the wireless performance of the phone is undoubtedly quite important, shall follow the following design principles.

Try to make the outer area of the ground intact, not to be divided and destroyed (not the part within the shield). This is especially important for the area near the antenna.

The Antenna current must be isolated from the noise current. Suppose the antenna near the ground area is destroyed into incomplete. In that case, it must be generated in the relevant area below a filler ground plane and use the ground hole to be sewn together to become a complete ground.

This area alignment must ensure that the antenna current only flows through the surface plane and limit the noise current flow into the complete ground plane inside.

When using pre-production antennas, it is important to note that the characteristics depend on the connected ground plane.
The manufacturer’s specifications can only be met if the ground plane is the same size and shape as the manufacturer’s evaluation board.

In other cases, the user needs to measure the impedance of the pre-production antenna under real-world application conditions and match it to the desired characteristic impedance.
