The High-performance Lora Antenna 868 MHz 915 MHz Flexible PCB Antenna CTRF-ANTENNA-FPC-8596-4420-IPEX is a built-in antenna Lora 868 MHz & 915 MHz bands FPC antenna manufactured by C&T RF Antennas Inc for Lora, ISM, GSM, LTE-M, and NB-IoT applications.

The high-performance 868 MHz 915 MHz dual-band Lora antenna FPC antenna comes with a 44x20mm flexible printed circuit board PCB-based size, a 130mm length Lora antenna cable extension, a 3dBi Lora antenna with an internal mounting on the device for RF signal transmitting and receiving.

The advantages of LoRa are mainly reflected in the following aspects.

1. Greatly improved reception sensitivity and reduced power consumption

A link budget of up to 157db allows communication over distances of up to 15km (environment dependent). Its reception current is only 10mA, and its sleep current is 200nA, which significantly delays the battery life.

2. The gateway/concentrator based on this technology supports parallel processing of multiple channels and data rates with high system capacity.

The gateway is the bridge between the node and the IP network (via 2G/3G/4G/5G or Ethernet). Each gateway can handle 5 million communications between each node daily (assuming 10 Bytes per transmission and 10% network occupancy).

If the gateway is installed in an existing mobile location with a power of 20dBm (100mW), it can cover about 2km in a densely built urban environment and up to 10km in a less dense suburban area.

3. Terminal and concentrator/gateway-based systems can support ranging and positioning.

LoRa’s measurement of distance is based on the over-the-air transmission time of the signal rather than the traditional RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication).

In contrast, localization is based on the measurement of the difference in over-the-air transmission time from multiple points (gateways) to one point (nodes). The positioning accuracy is up to 5m (assuming a range of 10km).

These key features make LoRa technology very suitable for IoT applications that require low power consumption, long range, a large number of connections, and location tracking.
